**Up for sale is this sensational unicorn Seiko SQ 5G23-8040 "Seikonaut".** The moment I saw the bezel I knew I would buy this watch. But this is a real oddball among all the vintage Seiko sports watches. While we might be familiar with several of Seiko's takes on the Nautilus – the "Seikonauts" – and while we easily find several distinct references on the internet, this one here seems to be a literal ghost. And sure, it lacks the half rounded dial and case shape of the Nautilus - in this sense this particular reference is more conservative than others, - but then we look at the three-dimensional shape of the bezel, how it mimics the form of a Nautilus perfectly, and it entails the feeling that this right here might be arguably the coolest "Seikonaut" among them all. The condition is very good with minor signs of wear mainly to the bracelet. The quartz movement works fine, Day and Date click nicely and crisp. The Day wheel language is Italian and English. The crystal is scratch free. **Size: 35 x 43 mm** (without crown and the L2L was measured from first link tip to first link tip, as they are basically the extension of the case), **Bracelet fits up to 20.5 cm** wrist circumference. To the dial colour: It's white-silverish with a subtly shimmering sunburst effect. On some pictures it appears creme but that's not it.
