For sale is my Seiko Presage Sharp Edged GMT SPB303 Limited Edition. This is a true “Flyer’s” GMT, meaning that the local (12 hour) hour hand and date can be quickly and easily adjusted on the fly without stopping the watch. The home time (24 hour GMT hand) and seconds continue to run when the crown is pulled out to the first position while adjusting local time forward or backward, withe the pointer date ticking forward or backward as local time is adjusted. To set home time, pull the crown out to the second position and seconds hack and home time can be adjusted.

This limited edition has only 900 pieces sold worldwide, and is the newer, revised 2022 version of the case with an additional polished accent under the bezel and the a ceramic, rather than metal bezel insert. There was also a slight revision to the dial which on this version has the applied “Seiko“ logo directly on the textured dial, rather than on a flat plane or nametag on the dial, giving the watch a more upscale look.

I bought this watch new from a USA authorized dealer in October 2023, so most of the warranty is still valid. The USA warranty card was filled out with purchase date by the AD (Exquisite TImepieces in Florida), but I did not fill out my information, so this watch can be registered with Seiko as though you were the original buyer.

This model appealed to me far more than the other colorways because it is simpler, with only dark blue for the dial, bezel insert and included cordovan leather strap, polished silver for the hands, indices and applied logo and white for dial and bezel text and the home timezone (GMT) hand. The only other finish is the brushing on some parts of the case and bracelet.

The watch is obviously not finished to Grand Seiko levels, but it definitely invokes Grand Seiko styling cues and is finished to a degree befitting a $1550 (MSRP) watch. Case polishing and dial finishing in particular stand out in this model, and look like those of a far more expensive watch (the polishing equals that of my Omega Constellation and approaches that of my Rolex Milgauss).

The bracelet is quite a bit better than typical mid-level Seiko with very nice contrast between brushed and polished surfaces, a small milled clasp that sits flush (no 1mm gap) and two micro-adjust positions that combined with included half links makes it easy to find a perfect size. The bracelet is sized for my 7.25” wrist, but all additional links and required pins and collars are in the box under the watch pillow.

The included cordovan leather strap is beautiful and comfortable, with an excellent and easy to open but secure deployant clasp. This strap and clasp may look similar to the cheap and plasticky ones on the low-cost SPR “Cocktail Time” series, but are actually much nicer. The leather appears to be shell cordovan, which starts stiff, but breaks in nicely, and actually looks and feels just as good as the one on my high-end Presage chronograph that is twice as expensive. I did punch a small and neat extra hole to get a more precise fit on my wrist.

This watch has been worn in rotation for the two months that I’ve owned it, but only in an office environment and never for any outdoor activity. The watch has never been dropped, exposed to water, dust or magnetic fields. There are likely some minor desk diving marks on the clasp, but I can’t see them.

Price includes PayPal goods and services fee and shipping within the United States (extra $25 for Alaska or Hawaii).
