FS. Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Chronometre from early 1960s.

I bought this watch in 2019 from Terrence Howells in Basle.

This example is in great shape. The 34mm case (it wears a little bigger, imo) has been polished at some time in the past. (I believe most examples of these chronometres have.) But it's clean and tidy, no dings, dents, etc. Some very light scratches under magnification, they show up way worse in the pics here.)

The dial and indices are in fantastic condition and that dial is electrifying. It turns from a silver to champagne under some lighting. The caseback medallion (it's gold) is likewise immaculate. Red date wheel; nice.

I don't know the service history but it works well. Holds power. Keeps good time. Date sets as it should. I don't have a movement pic as I haven't opened it since purchase. If it's dealbreaker, I can probably get one in a week or two.

The watch is offered as head-only. It's with me in London, currently.
