[WTS] Seiko 6138 in amazing condition + Extras. I need these gone to pay a bill, hence my aggressive pricing. This 6138 was purchased earlier this year from David Lane Design a strap designeer and vintage watch enthusiast (who has been featured in Hodinkee as well as making straps for them) at the Windup Wind up Watch fare in Chicago. This watch has seen a fresh service (2/2023) and a movement overhaul receiving all the necessary original parts that were needed to bring it back to a superbly funning condition. I subsequently received it from that buyer when I was on a chronograph buying mission. I was trying to find what (for me) was the perfect everyday chrono. I searched from vintage to modern. Why am I parting with this one? Honestly, I'm just not into vintage. I wanted to give vintage the best chance possible, so I sought out a vintage watch that was built tough and would last for decades to come while while still being in amazing condition for its age. Enter this 6138 UFO. This watch fits and wears like a turtle, with almost the exact same dimensions. All buttons function as they should, and the hands reset to the twelve as designed Time keeping is to between +3 to 6spd depending on wrist position. If you have ever wanted to try vintage, this is the one for you. It's in amazing condition for being fifty years old with no mark on the crystal or dial. The bezel and case have marks consistent with a watch being worn. It is by no means in bad condition it just has some vett nice character and patina. It should be noted that the lume is basically dead. It will shine for about thirty seconds before completely fading.
