Fantastic condition 1863 Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich. Spiralwinder DON fully lumed ceramic bezel installed - original OEM bezel also included. Omega 3861 OEM bracelet with quick adjust clasp installed last week brand new at Omega Boutique wirh fresh spring bars and professionally sized - all links included ($930 upgrade). I haven’t worn it on the bracelet once, it is effectively brand new. Includes OEM 3861 box set with manual and history picture book. Does not include original warranty card or bracelet. Service history unknown BUT RUNS AMAZING and suggests it was serviced by Omega recently based on timegrapher results and it passed a pressure test at Omega. Some scratches on polished bits of case (study photo album below?, but otherwise extremely clean. A great way to get into a moonwatch for a great price. I personally prefer the 1863 because it is better finished than the 3861, is easier to live with/maintain (less proprietary), and closer to the original Lemania movement that went to the moon. $5400 shipped CONUS net to me. Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
