Here’s an absolute banger of a watch: a 1973 Omega De Ville Automatic in all-original condition, powered by the caliber 1012 with quickset. The silver brushed dial, applied logo, and original Omega-signed crown and crystal are all present and untouched. It also includes the original Omega buckle. A great entry into vintage Omega without the hype tax. **Condition:** Honest wear for its age. Some markings on the case. Minor corrosion inside the case. The crystal looks very good. Please see the pictures for full condition and clarity. **Case Size:** 35 x 41.7mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 10.7mm and a lug width of 18mm. **Movement:** Omega 1012, automatic with 23 jewels, 28,800 bph, quickset date, and a power reserve of 42 hours. I don’t know its service history, but everything is working as it should. **Other Information:** * Original Omega-signed crown, crystal, and buckle. **Price:** Asking $650. Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
