# IWC 1955 White Gold Video: [https://imgur.com/a/r9wzFjT](https://imgur.com/a/r9wzFjT) Up for sale is a very rare IWC from 1955 with solid 14k white gold case. This piece utilizes the cal. 89 manual wind and is in really great shape especially considering its age. The inside of the caseback is hallmarked with a small Japanese flag, indicating a case made in Japan by their distributor Isomura instead of in Switzerland. This was done by IWC due to the very high import tariffs on precious medals at the time, so uncased movements would be shipped to Japan to be fitted into the Isomura-manufactured cases. A cool piece of history, and much more rare than the standard IWC cases. This is a relatively small 33mm case with a 40.25mm lug to lug length and 17mm lugs, but it does wear a bit larger due to the relatively large dial area. No service history on the movement, but it does wind and set smoothly and is in good running order.
