My 3rd generation family owned watchmaker is retiring and not taking in new watches. His son does not wish to learn the skills to take over so its end of an era.

I bought a number of pieces at an estate sale a few months back. This is one that needs serviced. I'm usually a bit of a snob on vintage and my nose goes up when I see "Elgin", but this one is pretty cool. and overall in fantastic looking condition.

Elgin Aquamaster. Great 35mm stainless case. (only a little smaller than the Tag Monaco for size reference) with 20mm lugs. Perfect crystal and really nice silver "linen" dial. Applied nickel plated indices. Thick screw down case back with a few tool marks. original signed crown.

SWISS made copper plated (copying omega?) Cal 990 movement shows no signs of previous water damage of service. The watch runs and stops. I believe it need a new stem and a service. Included with the sale are the staphabit epsom strap and what seems like an original bracelet. No links, but looks to be long enough for a 7" wrist.

Looking for $50.00 shipped on this one. There are donor versions on flea bay and complete running versions hovering under $500.00 last I looked. The strap is work more than half the asking.
