# Bulova Wrist Alarm 1966 (M6 date code) Attractive light colored dial with alternate finishing in the center, shifts in from silvery-gray to snow-white. A beautiful, heat blued serpentine alarm hand contrasts against the creamy, tritium lumed primary hands and dial. Relatively large for a vintage watch, 34mm wide and wears larger due to the light dial and thin bezel. Beautiful condition, one of the best examples I have seen. And the all stainless steel case makes this truly heirloom quality, unlike most the Vulcain Crickets which were mostly chrome plated. Service history not known. Tested running and keeping time. Alarm appears to function properly. See video for a demonstration https://imgur.com/a/oeMK0nj See what Hodinkee had to say when they listed one of these (https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/2910-bulova-wrist-alarm?variant=39521823555659): > In a world before the iPhone alarm and its so rhythmic but snoozeable chime, the wrist alarm was one of the most practical complications a watch could offer. Vulcain's Cricket found a massive market in the 1940s and it was not long before brands like Bulova had developed their own. The one we have here... features a very special blued steel alarm indicator hand in a "serpent" style. ... In order to operate this alarm, one must use both crowns. The top crown is used to set and wind the hands. The second crown at four o'clock is used to set the alarm hand and to make the alarm active, one must pull the crown out. When the alarm goes off, push the bottom crown in and that will disable it. $750 net. Free shipping within the continental United States
