Is there a more beautiful true GMT on the planet?! This, the iconic Grand Seiko SBGM221, has got to be one of the classiest and best looking GMTs around! Of course it has a gorgeous creamy dial, and of course the high-end leather strap suits the watch perfectly, but for me… it’s the polishing! Grand Seiko has truly mastered the art of Zaratsu polishing. Not only is the case polished to perfection, but what will really catch your eye is the fine polishing on the hands and dial markers. Seriously! Their beveled edges catch the light just right and makes it shine like a diamond. You really have to see it! The watch was purchased by me from an authorized Grand Seiko dealer back in Nov. 2020 and only worn a handful of times. It’s in 9.9/10 condition (only because I’ll never say 10/10 if it’s been worn) with no scratches, dings, or dents. The Zaratsu polish is virtually perfect! This is what’s known as a TRUE GMT. A true GMT watch is a “traveller's” GMT watch, where setting the local time can be done by simply “jumping” the hour hand to the local time, without adjusting the minute hand or the GMT hand. It also updates the date whether you’re going forwards or backwards in time. A must have for any traveller! Also, the warranty card is open. Meaning that it wasn’t filled out by the dealer when I purchased it. It could be filled out to reflect any date of purchase you’d like.
