EDIT: Adding new pics below in better lighting. Also take note of price drops below (from an already low initial price).

The slim MTG, with the special “Flare Red” bezel made of fused layers of carbon and glass. A unique material combination that results in an eye-catching color that makes this watch a standout, yet is constrained enough to wear everyday. People know there’s something special about this watch—stylish and modern masculinity.

High-level craftsmanship and detailing are seen all over this watch, because it was produced in the Yamagata factory in Japan, which produces high-precision and advanced materials and technologies that go into G-Shock’s higher-end watches. Their lab set-up is world-class and obsessive, outmatching those of top-tier luxury brands:

The 5672 module has everything but the kitchen sink, and is also used in G-Shock’s $8,000 hand-hammered models. This is perhaps the best, most sophisticated technological brain G-Shock has ever placed inside a watch case of any kind, especially one this thin.

The MTG-B3000FR-1A caseback is designed to cradle the watch like a protective cage, with crown- and button-protectors as part of its body. The blacked-out caseback is 3-D, and it presents the 40th Anniversary logo. The whole design is representative of strength and durability.

The crown and buttons are robust, rose-gold stainless steel, as are the rings that sandwich the special carbon-glass Flare Red bezel… truly an intentional aesthetic balance.

The dial surface itself possesses subtle laser-etched patterns that reveal this watch’s design obsession. The 3 sub-dials are balanced, like on a traditional chronograph. Fundamentally, underneath the AR-coated sapphire crystal is a dial layout that gives you a lot of information without being convoluted.

The lume are surprisingly good, significantly better than that on past G-Shock analog models. My older eyes can still see the lume at 5am. (There is some lume infused inside the Flare Red bezel to resemble a solar flare—pretty wild to see at night and a characteristic only to this bezel.)

The rubber strap is robust yet wonderfully pliable, the kind of quality you find on luxury watches in 5-figure categories.

For strap change, a brilliant mechanism allows for a simple press of two buttons to release the strap. Swapping out the strap is easy, yet the system is more secure and stronger than traditional lugs. (G-Shock has several strap and bracelet options, should you fancy a different look in the future.)

The dramatically down-turn of the lugs and the thinness of the case makes this watch easy to wear on my 6.3 inch wrist, and it slips comfortably under a cuff. Truly one of G-Shock’s thinner models designed for the modern style with flair and wearability, yet it retains the essence of the brand: toughness and durability.

This MTG-B3000 is in excellent, LNIB condition aesthetically and functionally. It
comes with the cool inner box, outer box, papers, booklet, and tag.

Pics below taken just now. (Sorry for the low light—I just want to get this post out. I will continue to update with pics in brighter lighting, but these will give you an idea of how beautiful this watch is, even in less than ideal lighting.)
