Clearing out watches as I’m trying to get out of this rabbit hole. When you see the watches im posting, you’ll clearly see the addiction that grew.It all started with an Omega Aqua Terra 38.5 MM version that I bought in the spring of 2019 in Rome at the international airport there. Ive been wearing <100$ watches for a while at this point, and this was my first luxury watch purchase. Silver dial. Classy. Dressy. Sporty. Recently married, no kids and we had dick around money. It was my daily wearer for a while. I ended up getting my wife pregnant during this trip and wore the watch daily throughout the process. I vividly remember looking at this watch during the birth of my child. It was 1:55ish pm and maury was on TV as my wife delivered. Very memorable.At that point I then became a father and helped my wife as much as I could (fathering). Funny enough, I convinced myself at this point I need a chronograph function in a watch. If/when youre an involved father and your wife needs constant reminding of how long shes been breast feeding at this point, this is an easy sell. You start the chronograph when the baby first starts to feed, time for 15 minutes, swap boob, reset chronograph, and time for another 15 minutes. So I purchased a speedy automatic. 6 months ish later I wanted the professional. So I sold the automatic and purchased the Omega Speedmaster Professional big box version. So this was my daily for the first 6-8 months of my daughters life. Once my wife stopped asking me about durations of feeding sessions, I went back to my AT as my daily wearer.Probably a year later at this point, during covid when we all were a little cloudy and experienced bad judgement, I somehow convinced myself that a Patek Calatrava model 5196J was a good purchase. I got it from a member from timezone. He was an executive for Nissan I believe. Im just an Engineer. I only really wear this watch for special events. Nothing really memorable about this watch, it really stays in a hidden part of my home.We somehow got pregnant again, and the speedy jumped back on my wrist as a daily wear, for similar reason as above. However, during this phase, I went in a rabbit hole of the fine aftermarket straps from forstner and uncle seiko. I ended up with the forestner flat link, the mesh bracelet, and the uncle seiko 1450 clone. The 1450 with the milled clasp is my favorite and is what is on the watch right now.Having said all that, my history here is pretty thin to none, and I know I am throwing a hail mary considering I’m trying to offload a Patek on here. I went in to details because the stories and the details are what matter the most to us enthusiasts, and I hope that I can prove to you that I am a legit seller. Aqua terra silver dial 38.5 mm - $3200 includes watch/box/papers/some tools, and ill through in a leather blue hodinkee strap. Speedmaster Professional - $3500 includes watch/box/papers/some tools, and ill throw in all the aftermarket straps I have. The big box edition comes with straps as well. Patek Phillipe Calatrava 5196J - $15,000 and includes box/papers/some books. Extra strap is also included. Original owner bought an additional brown leather strap. This is a 2006 model I believe.
