Moving on from my favorite watch of the prior year—a G serial Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm silver Arabic dial. This configuration was discontinued years ago and does not come up for sale very often. This thing is an absolute pleasure to wear, can be dressed up or down, and is relatively stealth as Rolexes go. A fantastic alternative if you love fully lumed indices in a smaller form factor (and can’t get your hands on a new Explorer). The watch is well worn but with only surface scratches on the polished bits—if you were so inclined, a polish by a professional would bring this nearly back into showroom condition. Small caveat to that is that the watch came to me with a small flea bite on the crystal edge that you cannot see but can feel slightly if you run your fingernail between 6 and 7. It is not visible without magnification. Desk dives on the bracelet, of course. 7/10 condition, conservatively. Condition has been taken into account when pricing. The watch came to me as watch only, but I added a period correct box and manuals via a Japanese dealer on eBay as I prefer to have a “set” even if not original. No papers. Winds and runs very well, within COSC in my non-scientific, non-time graph experience. Service history unknown. Priced at $5750 + label (CONUS preferred, international considered with risk on the buyer). Lowballs will be politely ignored.
