Next up in my collection purge is my 1979 Seiko 7548-7000 quartz diver. This is a special piece from Seiko’s history, and this particular example runs like a dream. It has a fresh battery and gasket as of last year and is fully water-tight. The bezel and crown turn smoothly, and the seconds hand hits all the markers perfectly. There’s a normal amount of wear all around the case that gives it some character, and the (original) bezel has faded somewhat with time. There isn’t much to the lume in terms of performance, but it has a lovely buttery color. English/kanji dial.
