It’s the epitome of Rolex perfection, bridging the tool-watch era with modern refinement. If I didn’t have an infatuation with my 36mm explorer - this would be my one and done. Everyone says the 5-digit references are perfect for smaller wrists (mine’s 6.5 inches). Well, that’s not true, unless they are modified. If you want the clasp to sit centered, and to get the perfect fit, you have to remove a permanent link on the band. This is due to the lack of removable links on the older bracelets… which causes a lopsided fit when you size down for a <7 inch wrist. TONS of info on the watch forums about this. This watch is set up to perfection. That pesky permanent link has been removed, and I have added an easy-link extension in the clasp. This watch fits like an absolute GLOVE on smaller wrists, with the clasp dead on centered. You also lose some of the rattle in the clasp by removing the divers extension, and get the easy on-the-fly adjustment with easy-link, for a more modern feel. I am including all of the original parts of course, and an extra Rolex link if you need to size it up to a larger wrist. As for condition - this example is really solid. I spent extra time looking for one with nice meaty lugs. That said - it is worn! Expect the usual hairline scratches as a result. You are welcome to polish it if you’d like, but that is your choice!
