Up for sale is another great vintage Longines. This one is a wearable 35mm steel 12.68z with a unique and attractive original copper color dial. The Suiza signed dial indicates delivery to South America, which is reinforced by the archive info that states the watch was delivered to Uruguay in December 1945. See below for full info, and don’t hesitate to message me with questions.
Dial: Original, non-refinished dial is a unique, original copper color and features glossy silver Roman numerals and a Suiza signature. Suiza indicates delivery to South America, which is reinforced by the archive info. The dial has fairly even patina with some minor marks and discoloration, the most significant being degradation around the outside of the dial that isn’t very noticeable. Features oxidized silver stick hands to match the numerals.
Case: Original 35mm 5030 reference stainless steel case is in very nice, seemingly unpolished condition. Case has 17mm fixed lugs.
Crown: I had a correct unsigned Longines crown installed recently.
Crystal: Unclear if it’s the original as they weren’t originally signed. It’s free of scratches, but there appears to be a hairline crack on the edge of the crystal near 12-1 and some light debris stuck to the inside of the crystal. A new crystal would help this dial shine!
Movement: Original 12.68z movement runs, winds, and sets well, however I have no service history, and it has a short power reserve.
Bracelet: Comes on the Soviet beads of rice bracelet pictured.
Archive: Comes with a digital copy of the Longines Extract from the Archive that indicates delivery to Uruguay in February 1945.
