Up for sale is this beautiful Girard Perregaux Laureato ref. 81010-11-431-11A with the blue dial. This is a complete set with box, and papers stamped by a AD in March of 2022, so there’s still more than two years left on the five year warranty. The watch is currently sized to loosely fit my 7.75” wrist, and has two additional links, so I think this could fit up to a 8.5” wrist if needed. The watch is in excellent working condiiton, keeping great time, and has just minor scratches consistent with careful wear as yo can see in the pictures.

In my opinion, is a wonderful way to get into both haute horology and the 1970s-style integrated bracelet watch trend, at an unbeatable price. My daily wearer for several years was an AP 15400 Royal Oak, but there are a number of ways I prefer this Laureato. In my opinion, this wears much more comfortably than the RO, with its slim profile (a bit over 10mm thick), rounded top that slips effortlessly under shirt cuffs, and smoothly articulating bracelet I personally also find the bracelet more comfortable (the buttons on the butterfly protrude less than on the RO) and the overall presentation of the watch, with more polished surfaces and the mesmerizing Clous de Paris dial, more beautiful than the RO. I also prefer the look of the 01800 in-house movement, with its traditional hand finishing and generous proportions in relation to the case. However, this watch definitely more dressy than the RO, and now that my daily dress code is more casual than it has been, I’ve decided to part with tis piece.
