This watch originally to a friend's grandpa. This one has both history and character. I am letting go to free up funds for other reasons. Worth a service and perhaps cleaning, as it does run faster. I expect this one to go fast as I'm listing it for cheap. **Details:** * The watch is fully functional and keeps rough time but definitely needs a service if someone wants improve accuracy and clean or replace the dial as they wish. * Original Rolex crystal was replaced at some point (has the 'R' in the center). * Genuine and original movement and head, and clasp but an authenticator said while the bracelet itself is genuine Rolex, it is not correct to the watch. Another authenticator, popular in the Bay Area (World Time in SJ), simply said the clasp is real and of course the watch head. * The case back has an engraving: “O.V.M.M.” — the initials of the seller’s father, passed down as a gift. * Dial and crystal could benefit from a cleaning or replacing during servicing. Original crystal included. Crystals can be cheap. **Pricing:** I'm asking for **$2,500** plus shipping. This accounts for everything, and is the cheapest DateJust you'll find. Without bracelet I'm seeing this selling for $4.5k+. This one has a genuine clasp. Even with a potential Rolex service, the buyer is still well below the market price for a well-restored 1601 with a bracelet.
