Sunday Funday to all!  Received breaking news recently that our little family is growing, so started thinking about the future a bit more. I’m typically quite responsible with spending, but I must admit I have a weakness for this particular hobby. After much thought, I’ve decided to let go of the least-worn watches in my collection. During the search, I couldn’t believe how many I literally bought and they just stayed in the box after trying it once or twice. I’ll take that as a very strong indication that the watches deserve someone who can spend more time with them- as I plan on spending more time with my future little one.  On to the piece! MODEL: Oris Big Crown Pointer Date ref. 7628-40 40mm Bought it just recently but this one has been sitting. Turns out I also just bought a BCPD Cervo within last weeks and I’m just going to have to let one go. Ultimately, I went with the Cervo as I don’t have many dials with the particular blue color. Was really torn between the 2, as this one has a lot of the characteristics that I’ve always liked in the BCPD. Particularly the applied indices, crescent shaped date indicator, and the indicator being actually red and easily noticeable (rather than the more difficult shapes/shades nowadays). The entire dial is really interesting and the piece got a lot of compliments the 1 time I wore it around people. Most don’t care to even bother looking at a watch, so it’s extra memorable when someone notices. OVERVIEW Up for sale is my very good condition Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 40mm ref. 01 754 7628 4061-07 8 20 76. This watch measures at 40mm and has an automatic winding pointer date movement developed by Oris. The rose gold highlights of the indices and hands complements the dirty white dial nicely. These older model BCPD’s have really stood the test of time and still work and look like a champ. Minimal marks on the case and caseback of the watch. Case sides has a few light marks. Bracelet has minimal marks. The watch has a steel case on an original steel Oris bracelet. Sapphire crystal as well as AR coating and all other parts are clean. No deep dings or scratches. FUNCTIONALITY All functions working well (Crown, pointer date and timekeeping within standards).
