The strap was introduced on the first Seiko 300m Professional diver (6159) and later on it complemented the now classic 6105-8110. It was also highlighted in the 1979 movie "Apocalypse Now," where it was worn on a 6105 by Captain Benjamin L. Willard, played by Martin Sheen. This is the reason behind the second nickname, sometimes referred to as the “Willard.” Because of the cool, retro look I decided to make it in various sizes, to combine it with other great Seiko divers.
