\[WTS\] Breitling Superocean 1st Gen A17040 - Professional 1 Bracelet/19cm - Neo-Vintage Diver This has been a fun rabbit hole getting acquainted with the Breitling watches from my young fatherhood era. Pictures don't do this dial justice; it looks stunning in real life (red seconds hand on a blue dial all pop). It's beautiful and has Breitling's battle-tank build quality, yet it is standard-sized for a Breitling (around 41mm) With a retro-classic dial surrounded by a military-derived design language, the A17040 represents a special era when Breitling made toolish everyday dive watches with plenty of '90s charm. Action-ready in its design and construction, this 41.5mm diver boasts 1000m of water resistance with a steel elapsed time bezel. This guy's opinion - The A17040 case is much nicer than the A17360, the next-gen watch but with a broader/square-slab-sided case. The A17040's case has beautifully rounded sides, making it more comfortable and better looking. Bracelets in good condition are desirable for this watch. It gives the watch a very substantial look and presence on the wrist. The end links are the correct 861A, and the bracelet has some stretch but is in very nice condition and shines. The later model bracelets had sold end links and date codes on the bracelet. This model is an early V1 SuperOcean and does not have screwed links. Getting great pictures is hard, but this watch looks great on the wrist. Condition: The watch is in good shape overall. These watches were worn and has slight wounds throughout. That is not what you notice at the macro (wear) level but the good looks and wearability. I have taken up-close photos of this but don't get stuck on the macros. The watch is free of any deep dings and deep scratches. It is also keeping good time. The watch will fit a 19cm/7.5-inch wrist. This watch has been polished somewhere in its 25+ year life. Service history and waterproof effectiveness are unknown.
