This watch, while consists of all original and period correct parts by Seiko (except for the hardlex crystal), has been put together with parts (including the period correct caseback) I have collected throughout the years. And the watch has been priced accordingly. If you’ve been on the look out for these models you’ll probably know that tons of fake aftermarket replacement parts are out there nowadays, scoring a watch with all correct and genuine parts are getting tougher and tougher. Case size is about 41mm not including crown. The Seiko 6139 automatic chronograph movement is the first serial production of its kind in history debuted back in 1969. The 6139-6005 is the North American version of this watch style which features 1 line of text underneath the Seiko logo. (As opposed to the 6139-6002 models which features 2 lines underneath the logo.) This particular example is often referred to as the “True Pogue”, as its configuration is identical to the one that Col. Pogue wore on his space mission and is identified by a line of text at the 9 o’clock on dial that reads “water 70m resist” This specific configuration was only produced from late 1970 till early 1972, a little over a year. Dial has some patina marks on it. Depends on how big of a wabisabi person you are, I personal think that the marks on this one actually makes it look kinda cool. All lumes on dial and hands has been professional relumed by one of the best vintage seiko restorer in business, Guy from Rexworthy Watches, which cost me about $100usd All functions of the watch (chrono start/stop/reset, rotating inner bezel, day/date quickset) works as intended. Watch has been completely overhauled locally (in Vancouver) in 2022, which cost me about $350usd and is running strong. Lug width is 19mm.
