I think the Rolex Explorer 1 is PERFECTION, a top candidate for the one watch collection - going from its origin purpose, climbing mountains (and just being an all around outdoor legend) to the boardroom seamlessly. Add in the cleanliness of a Swiss Only dial (that cool little oddity Rolex did for only about a year as they were transitioning away from tritium lume) and you have a fantastic combo! REF: 14270 SERIAL: A336XXX DATE: 1999 DIAL: You’ve seen it inspire many others but this is where it began, the SWEETNESS that is the black 3-6-9 dial. And this is a great example, incredibly clean, including the sapphire crystal, just beautiful! CASE: The previously polished 36mm case presents well, with nice brushing on the lugs. Has wear throughout, mostly seen on the smooth bezel and sides, but looks great on the wrist. MOVEMENT: While service history is unknown I believe it to be recent given the smooth hand winding and setting and incredible timegrapher numbers at 1 second a day with an amplitude of 314.
