Parting ways with my Club 701 — almost the perfect GADA watch, but deep deep down in my heart of hearts I’m a black dial guy, not a white dial guy.  **This watch:** The 701 is Nomos’s entry-level model, the simplest base model of the Club / Club Campus line. It’s an easy-wearing and versatile hand-winder with an in-house movement that keeps great time. Unusually for its category, it sports 100m of water resistance and really can go anywhere— dress watch, sport watch, field watch. You could probably even swim with it; I haven’t, but I trust Nomos when they say the push-pull crown is good for 100m. This model, 701.1, is a refresh with a slightly refined dial. It adds luminous paint, which the previous version didn’t have, but TBH it’s the weakest lume I’ve ever seen. But the rhodium dial is very beautiful up close and the painted indices have a nice raised look now because of it. The 701 (this one) has a solid casebook; the 703 version has a sapphire casebook.  I’m hard-pressed to recommend a better, more versatile watch in the $1000 – $2000 price range, and certainly hard-pressed to recommend a better First Serious Watch.   **Condition:** I’m the second owner and have only had this for a few months. Worn sparingly and with care. No visible scratches or dings aside from the faint surface marks that are unavoidable on glossy polished steel. Only visible with a loupe or with the very careful use of a very bright light.  **The extras:** I’m including some extra straps that match the dial and hand colors nicely, along with a Wolf watch roll that I scored on sale for a song but never wound up using. I’m including these because there are a couple of other 701s for sale on the sub for a similar price, and I’d rather include some extras than try to beat them on price.
