[WTS] OMEGA SPEEDMASTER AUTOMATIC DAY-DATE 3520 (MK 40) W/BOX + EXTRA STRAPS - SERVICED 2018
TIMESTAMP: [https://imgur.com/a/4nYsihr](https://imgur.com/a/4nYsihr) GALLERY: [https://imgur.com/a/8PeVgA8](https://imgur.com/a/8PeVgA8) For sale: $1,900 shipped, CONUS I’ve decided to let go of my Speedy 3520 triple date. I love this watch. I’d argue this is the best of the “reduced” Speedies by a large margin. Rather than the modular movements used on most of the reduced line from the 90s/early aughts, these used Valjoux-based integrated automatics. They also ditched the vintage box crystal and flat bezel, going for a slick domed sapphire with no “halo,” giving them a slightly more modern look that works perfectly to my eyes as this isn’t just a smaller Speedy; it’s its own thing. At 39 x 44.75mm, it’s compact and wears beautifully. It does measure 14mm thick, but don’t let that number throw you. Thanks to a thin mid-case and tall bezel assembly, it wears much thinner than the numbers suggest. The dial is also a fantastic example of cramming a lot of information into a small space without losing legibility, including time, chronograph, pointer date, day and months windows, and a 24-hour hand. Unlike the more colorful MK 40 model, this one keeps the austere, toolish appeal of the Speedmaster. I’m not sure of its manufacturing date, but it’s likely at least 20 years old, so it shows signs of wear on the case, most notably a deepish scratch along the bottom left lug (which was there when I bought it). Nothing terrible, but clearly well-worn. The bezel, dial, crowns, and pusher are all in great condition. This one features superluminova on the dial and hands that glow well. It’s mounted on the original bracelet, perfectly fitting a 7” wrist. The watch was serviced by Omega by a previous owner in 2018 and includes the receipt/service certificate costing $800. It also includes a red Omega box, that was presumably the original box. The box is disintegrating, and it was when I got it. The red vinyl (probably) exterior is flaking off, so I keep it in a plastic bag. I’ve also included a bag of 18mm straps that the previous owner included. They aren’t to my taste, so I never wore them. This is an awesome watch. It’s great as an easy-to-wear tool chronograph with the added benefit of an uncommon triple-date complication as well as an affordable way to get into a Speedmaster. I’ve owned multiple 42mm Speedy pros, none of which stayed in my collection as long as the 3520. Please respond below before messaging, thanks!.
