Cartier Tanks have become THE watch for a few reasons: they’re design perfection, and they’re still incredibly undervalued! It’s always nice to see what all the fuss is about while still finding a way to stand out from the crowd, and this lesser scene Bordeaux dial Tank does exactly that! It’s such an incredible color that Cartier themselves copied it in a recent release, but this is the classic, here paired with a brand new matching Bordeaux hand made lizard strap for just an AWESOME look! YEAR: App 1980s DIAL: Such a fantastic design, the stealth Bordeaux dial combined with gold lettering and hands! Usually these are found with the common lacquer spidering, but even under macro, none here - this is the cleanest example I’ve seen! Crystal has some tiny scratches and a few dust specs under but all in just a stellar example! CASE: This is the vintage men’s version, measuring in at 23.5MM x 30.5MM. A small and classy watch, equally suitable as a midsize or unisex swatch. Pictured on my 6.6 inch wrist, it wears beautifully. The Vermeil case, a Cartier staple of gold over sterling silver has light wear throughout, including a small knock on the back, but none of the standard plating loss usually seen at the ends of the lugs. Has some light patina forming on the gold, looks fantastic on the wrist. Also has what appears to be the original Cartier case back sticker, and of course that sweet original crown with its blue cabochon! MOVEMENT: Hand wound mechanical movement running beautifully as it was just FULLY SERVICED, will come with receipt and a one year warranty from my watchmaker! STRAP: Comes on a beautiful, brand new Bordeaux hand made lizard strap with aftermarket gold colored buckle. It’s a beautiful, soft, thin strap and the Bordeaux on Bordeaux look is SWEET!
