For sale is a Rolex Datejust Ref 1601 two tone with a beautifully faded tropical piepan dial and yellow gold bezel.

I'm actually not sure what color this dial started as, but it has faded to a unique color among Datejusts at this point. The white dial printing has a tendency to "ghost" under reflective light. This is one of the neatest vintage Datejusts I've handled.

Serial number dates this to 1970. This inner caseback has a 1969 production stamp and various watchmaker markings from services over its 54 year life.

Lugs are very sharp for this age, and would likely fit some collector's definition of "unpolished'. There is some pitting between the lugs, as shown.

Serviced in 11/2023 and running within 2 seconds per day.

Presented on a new Tuns Leather strap that complements the dial well.

No box or papers.
