Seen here in a slate gray dial (“Slatejust”?) that has since patina’d to a nice warm brownish-lavender hue, this thing has been ticking for the last 37+ years. Aside from the iconic Submariner, this is probably the silhouette of a modern Rolex that many associate when they hear “Rolex”, especially one from the 80s (think: American Psycho). The 36mm steel case is in good condition with normal signs of wear for a watch of this age. It comes on a thicc black leather B&R Watch Bands strap (short) which is in mint condition. The movement is keeping very accurate time. This has the quickset date mechanism and features the beautiful “open” 6’s and 9’s on the date wheel, as pictured. What I like about this particular reference is the more understated white gold fluted bezel vs. the gold, which blends in nicely with the steel case, as well as the grey dial and black strap — which lets it fly under the radar as the perfect daily driver.
