# IWC 815A Video: [https://imgur.com/a/nZAWwFP](https://imgur.com/a/nZAWwFP) Up for sale is a seldom-seen vintage IWC reference, the 815A. This one dates to about 1974 based on the 2.1m serial number, and is in amazing condition not even considering it's about to turn 50 years old. The movement is the IWC 8541B, the date and hacking version of IWCs 85X series of automatic movements based on the legendary Pellaton winding system. The watch winds and runs smoothly, and the date clicking over happens right at midnight. The original dial is in fantastic shape and shows virtually no signs of its age at all. The case measures 35mm, but wears fairly large due to the shape and hidden lugs. Wrist shot is of the watch on my \~6.75" wrist. Lug to lug length is about 36mm, and even with the domed crystal the watch is only about 11.25mm thick. The lug width is 19mm.
