Considering selling my beautiful Seiko 6139-6040, aka the Silver Ghost. Watch was recently serviced by Guy at RexworthyWatches. full movement service, gaskets, new crystal. Watch is in great shape And runs fantastic. Running at a little over +10s per day. Chrono works great, pushers feel superb. Upon resetting, the seconds hand stops at around 2seconds mark. when depressing reset button again, it snaps precisely to 0. I’m not sure if this was done intentionally to prevent damage to the movement (ie doesn’t snap as hard to zero), I’m not Sure. Everything else functions beautifully, so I’m thinking this is intentional or just something that can be adjusted. The case is very good. doesn’t appear to have been polished ever. All edges are super crisp and the polished/brushed surfaces are intact. It’s a 50 year old watch so there are some minor nicks and scratches in the polished sections. Bezel is fantastic - silver is faded but in the right light you can still make out the printing. crystal is mint. Dial and hands are all original. there is a small amount of patina on the dial. Lume is all original. Black seconds counter was repainted by Guy during service, but the other hands are untouched. Priced at $800 without strap.
