You might have seen my previous 7T59 Masterpiece II three days ago. Well, this is the even quirkier looking 7T59 Masterpiece III. Sadly there are no more Masterpieces, as Seiko decided the world could only handle two. I’ve included the full details below for those that weren’t lucky enough to see the Masterpiece II post. **It is said that Seiko only manufactured the 7T59 movement to prove it could be done.** 1/100th of a second chronograph with date and date and an independently adjustable 24 hour GMT hand, under a sapphire crystal, with two screw-down crowns, and a rotating count-down bezel! Is there anything else this watch could have? Much like the Concord, perhaps the world wasn't ready for such a movement and Seiko shuttered its production in 1993 after two short years. However, in those two short years Seiko produced almost a dozen different variants. The one I present to you today is one of the rarest iterations; the nautiloid looking "Masterpiece MCMXCIII". Limited to 2500 pieces, and costing $2200 on release, this bizarre watch definitely got people talking. Love it or hate it, you have to respect its bravery for simply existing. As I mentioned earlier, the 24 hour hand is independently controllable, giving it GMT functionality.
