A very nice Omega 2777-1 ‘Fat Arrow’, issued to the RAF circa 1953.
The watch has a lovely patina, as the hands have aged well to match the hour plots on the dial. This example is in superb condition as can be seen. The case and lugs are still lovely and sharp, and to me it looks unpolished.
All parts are original to the watch, including the crown. There are a few small marks from wear, but they are commensurate with an issued watch of this age. The watch is 70+ years old.
The cal 283 has just been serviced by Simon Freese, and the remainder on the mechanical warranty is in place until October 2024. Serial 12905148.
The seconds hand is the correct length. The case back is in great condition, and there are no deep scratches that are sometimes seen. The MOD engraving is nice and clear showing the 6645-101000- NATO code, 6B/542- Aircrew Issue code, and 4602/53- Stores number & year of order. Supplied on a tan NATO strap as seen.
Also present is the original case retainer ring, or ‘doohickey’ to use it’s original name. These are often missing. Case is 36.5 mm ex crown, lugs are fixed 18mm.
Overall this is a very nice example of an Omega 6b 2777-1, and these are getting harder to find in this condition.
Net £2350 plus shipping/Insurance costs. Payment by bank transfer to my UK bank. GBP.
Sales are final unless incorrectly sold.
Thank you.
