The watch also includes what seems to be the original leather strap and crystal. The first Pierce chronograph was developed in 1936/37, featuring a monopusher design and an in-house column wheel movement, the caliber 130. In 1939, Pierce launched the caliber 134 and developed a more durable case (post-1939 cases are usually pristine compared to older examples). The 134 was operated via two pushers, often called up/down because of their reverse configuration. This watch matches the cases produced between 1939 and 1943. You might be wondering – where is the triple signature? If you notice the dial, it says “Swiss Made” not once, not twice, but three times. The example you see here was most likely shipped to the UK, given the fact that Pierce was the British Military’s largest watch supplier in the 40s. The tachometer scale is also in miles, further adding to my reasoning. Wait, wait, wait – what about the box? Oh yeah, that’s what makes this one of the rarest Pierce chronographs you’ve ever seen. According to my research, there are only a handful of pictures of this box online.
