The **Laureato “Absolute Passion” by Girard Perregaux** is a modern interpretation of a classic. The Laureato was first released in 1975 on the heels of Gerald Genta’s groundbreaking Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and shares its history, and many of the same design cues. The Absolute line is GP’s equivalent to the Offshore, with larger case sizes and bolder styling. The Absolute Passion is decked out in black and racing red, to commemorate partnership with the Festival Automobile International in Paris. An extremely limited edition of only 50 pieces makes this model highly collectible. The case is generously proportioned at 44mm diameter and 14.6mm high. Despite that size, it wears lightly and comfortable even on modest sized wrists, due to its PVD-coated titanium construction, downward-angled lugs and gorgeous red/black integrated rubber strap. It features curved, rectangular chronograph pushers for a sleeker profile, which along with the black case makes it wear smaller and more subtly than its size would suggest.
