[WTS] Porsche Design Chronograph 1 by Orfina – Reference 7176 S – Valjoux 7750 – The Original 1970s “Top Gun” Military Chronograph (famously worn by Tom Cruise in the original 1986 film) Purchased in October 2025 directly from the Camera West Watch Company in New York. This is the first ever Porsche Design Chronograph 1, produced in 1972–1974 by Orfina under the Porsche Design name (black PVD-coated stainless steel case, reference 7176 S). The watch has tritium patina markers and hands, matte black dial, and has the iconic workhorse Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement (this is one of the earliest production examples). Case measures 41mm with the original fixed lugs designed for military/bund straps. Still has the original Porsche Design-signed black PVD crown and pushers. This exact model was issued to German Luftwaffe pilots in the 1970s and later immortalized when Tom Cruise wore it on-screen as Maverick in the original 1986 Top Gun movie. Comes on period appropriate aftermarket black leather strap with PVD buckle. Also comes with an IWC travel case and extra military green fabric-rubber strap. Condition is outstanding for its age – PVD coating is 90%+ intact with only minor wear, no scratch on crystal, chronograph resets crisply, and the Valjoux 7750 is running accurately. Watch only.
