The Seiko 7019 movement has a fascinating history, having first emerged in the 1970s from Seiko's Daini division. It quickly captured the hearts of watch enthusiasts and was featured in many remarkable timepieces of the era. One standout example is the Seiko 7019-6040 5 Sports classic 5 Sports watch. This watch boasts a sporty silvery blue dial and an eye-catching blue-and-white inner rotating bezel. Its design is accentuated by a thin orange ring around lume-filled indices complemented by a vibrant orange second hand. All of this is beautifully encased in a classic cushion-shaped steel case, resulting in a timepiece that is not only sporty but also exudes vintage charm. This watch was sold exclusively in Japan (JDM), making the Seiko 7019-6040 a rare gem, especially in such fantastic condition. It's truly a treasure for collectors and enthusiasts alike! This model truly encapsulates Seiko's profound impact on chronographs and its lasting legacy in the art of watchmaking. In terms of condition, this watch is reasonable and exhibits expected wear for its age. The crystal is very scratched but as it’s acrylic might be restored with Polywatch. The date/date window advances but sticks. The movement still runs and is clean inside but the watch will require a service to get running as it should run so please factor this in. The asking price reflects the need for a service. The standout is the dial. It is immaculate and a bright silvery blue with orange accents.
