Grand Seiko SBGS003 (reference 9587-8000), a gorgeous example of Grand Seiko’s early quartz timepieces. Produced in the late 1980s, this model, dating to November 1988, displays the brand’s dedication to precision, craftsmanship and timeless design. The stainless steel case measures 36mm in diameter, resulting in a refined and versatile presence on the wrist. The crisp silver dial is beautifully simple, with hand-finished hour markers and slender dauphine hands that reflect Grand Seiko’s signature attention to detail. A framed date window at 3 o’clock adds practical functionality without disrupting the dial’s clean symmetry. Inside is the 9587 quartz caliber, an ultra-accurate, high-end movement manufactured entirely in-house by Seiko. Unlike mass-market quartz watches, the 9587 was carefully adjusted for greater accuracy, which is the spirit of Grand Seiko’s relentless pursuit of perfection. Completing the watch is a classic stainless steel bracelet that complements the case’s sharp lines, paired with a Grand Seiko embossed folding clasp, which will fit up to a 7.25” wrist very comfortably. Watch is in excellent, fully functional condition, has benefited from a recent battery replacement and comes complete with its rarely found with original inner/outer box set.
