Hi r/WatchExchange! I have for sale a couple of gold plated Seikos from the 70s and 80s. Both are keeping good time, the quartz tank has a fresh battery. Both are fit with custom hand made and stitched straps made by myself from vegetable tanned Buttero leather from Italy. Alternative straps can be made if you like the watch but would prefer a different style/color of strap. Watches are also available head-only if that is preferred. At 34x25mm and a little over 5mm thick, I find that this is a sweet spot in terms of size for tank style watches. It features a delicately brushed gold dial with applied gold indices and simple gold stick hands. The crown features a Cartier style jewel though I am unsure what kind of stone it is. This tank is fit with a whiskey-brown Buttero leather watch strap that will fit wrists from 6-7.25” (strap length: 77.5/115mm). As you can see in the photos, the gold plating is in excellent condition with only hairline scratches on all but the left side of the watch which has some light wear. It still has the original protective sticker on the back. This watch is keeping great time with a fresh battery recently installed. Totally 70s, this one is described by Seiko’s own catalog as having an ebony mirror dial which I would say is definitely accurate. It looks a deep pitch black in some light and a reflective gunmetal silver in other situations. The depth of the dial really makes the applied gold Seiko pop. The plating is in excellent condition with no chipping, pitting, or wear through. There is one tarnish-like discoloration on the side of the case which I can gladly polish out if you prefer. As is, the watch looks like it wasn’t worn much, definitely never polished. It does have some faint numbers scratched into the caseback, very hard to see unless you hold it just right (see photo). It is fit to a bordeaux colored Buttero leather watch strap that will fit wrists from 5.5” to 6.75” (strap length: 85/105mm). I also have an aftermarket reptile strap that came with the watch if the buyer prefers it, but I will say that it is a bit thin for the watch and makes it wear a little awkwardly.
