The “Edition 2000” Toric Rattrapante is one of the earliest watches to be released under Michael Parmigiani’s own brand, combining traditional aesthetics and design with the distinct details that would become the brand’s identity, such as the double stepped coin edged bezel inspired by Greek and Roman Doric columns.  The real magic of this extremely rare watch that was produced in just ten examples is the depth, dimension, and finishing of the vintage Venus 175 split-second caliber.  **Case:** 39.8 x 49.5 x 14.4 solid 18K rose gold case features a signature double stepped, coin-edged bezel, long, prominent lugs, ovalized pushers, and a neatly knurled crown.  The case exhibits very little wear or use with all hallmarks and engravings extremely crisp and clear. **Dial:** The matte black dial is restrained, elegant, and elevated with ample use of negative space despite having three registers and a techymetre scale.  The applied, polished Breguet “12” is understated and elegant, matching the uniquely shaped and polished hands.  The dial is free from any imperfections. **Movement**: The highly modified vintage Venus caliber 175 has a depth and dimension that you can “see” into only matched by the likes of Lange’s chronographs.  It is impressively finished throughout, a joy to wind and operate and running very well at approximately +4 s/d, averaged across 6 positions.  **Includes:**  The watch is presented on its original signed strap and buckle and includes the original wooden presentation box.
