Big fan of the hand wound variants Rolex was offering from the 60s through the 80s - they just over so much value. But the no date Rolex Oyster Precision reference 6426 might beat ‘em all - pure, clean, robust. This here is a great example with a lesser seen gray sunburst dial with gorgeous aged tritium and leather strap to match! REFERENCE: 6426 DATE: 1966 DIAL: The no date dial is just sweet, such a clean aesthetic. And this is a fantastic example, with the darker silver/gray sunburst that you don’t often see. A few specs seen under macro and a bit of patina on the hands, but presents incredibly clean and the tritium has aged to a stunning color! CASE: Unpolished 34mm stainless case (actually measures 34.5 on calipers, and wears like a 35 or so with the oyster case.) Wear throughout, as to be expected for its age with an unpolished example but looks great on the wrist (photographed on my 6.6 inch) and so nice to see the thick lugs with great original brushing that’s hard to find on these. CRYSTAL: Vintage plexi crystal in good shape, with light scratches and wear as you’d expect but shows off that dial well. MOVEMENT: Hand wound Rolex movement is working beautifully, winding and setting smoothly, with timegrapher showing 13 seconds a day with a strong amplitude of 272. STRAP: Comes on a cool butterscotch/caramel colored leather strap that perfectly matches the tritium lume, with new stainless buckle. ACCESSORIES: Watch on leather strap only.
