Noteworthy is the octagonal crown situated within the case.    Dial: This is a Paris dial that is in excellent condition; blued hands Crystal: Mineral glass crystal has a subtly rounded shape and is consistent with the watch’s era. Strap: Original reptile strap and 18K deployant clasp. In a luxurious touch from the early ‘70s, the inside of the strap is lined in reptile rather than calf skin. Straps in different sizes can be obtained from Cartier or other sources.  Strap does not adjust   Accessories: None. Watch only. Background: The origins of the Ceinture date back to 1927 but it wasn’t until 1973 that Cartier reissued the Ceinture, as part of its iconic twelve-piece Collection Louis Cartier.  This 27mm example features a stepped dial and beveled corners, which is emblematic of Cartier’s emphasis on designs that emphasize shape.  The word Ceinture in French translates to "belt.”  The watch derives its name due to its resemblance to the buckle of a belt.  Offered at $6,875 shipped.
