For sale is this vintage Seiko "Seagull" 5933-5040, made in Japan in April of 1982. The "Seagull" range by Seiko was debuted in 1981 with the design brief being a sleek, thin design with integrated bracelet - a dress watch for action being relatively waterproof for the time, hence the name. This example presents the design brief with a well proportioned case and integrated two-tone design with a thinness of just 6.9mm.  RRP in 1981 was ¥40,000 which equates to almost $700 in today's money, adjusted for inflation. The dial is a wonderful gold tatami waffle texture in amazing condition for its age with high-polish stick baton markers with a chamfered edge towards the middle. The black pencil hands contrast nicely with the matte gold seconds hand, which satisfyingly hits every marker. The Seiko logo, single crystal quartz symbol and print at the bottom of the dial are printed in black. The Daini lightning bolt symbol on the dial and case back signifies it was designed and manufactured by the Daini factory during their fierce rivalry with the Suwa factory.  The case exhibits mostly brushed facets in its original finish intact with only the gold bezel in high-polish. The days of the week are bilingual and can be in either Japanese Kanji or English as you wish. Comes on the original two-tone bracelet, which is amazing quality and is very comfortable as it will conform nicely to any wrist, as you can see from the video the links just roll. The links are nicely finished too as well as being subtly multifaceted for extra detail. The bracelet is adjustable so will fit most wrists.  The calibre 5933 movement is a pretty little thing with a stated accuracy of half a second a day (as a comparison, the famous Casio f-91w is only accurate to 30 seconds a month). Brand new battery. In great condition for its age at 43 years old, minimal wear although general wear should be expected. Only the crown is a little worn.
