The secret is out: so much value to be had in vintage and neo vintage Vacheron Constantin. This is an incredible example of just that, the reference 39008 with hand wound movement, sapphire crystal, and an incredible oversized solid 18k gold case! The elegant white dial with an almost linen like vertical texture is a thing of beauty! A speck or two seen under macro, but presents mint on the wrist. 32MM x 38MM tonneau-meets-ellipse case wears incredibly well and oversized for the time. Pictured on my 6.6 inch wrist, it’s comparable to a 38MM round watch, perfect for someone who wants to get into a slim gold watch but isn’t looking for the smaller Calatrava sizing. Previously polished case presents well, with light wear throughout, sharp lines, and some nice gold patina. Comes on a new hand made green alligator strap with new gold colored buckle. Strap manages to be both a little bit funky and classic at the same time - really gorgeous pairing. Hand wound Vacheron movement is running very well.
