Burlington watches were produced by Illinois in their factory in Springfield, Illinois and the company was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.* One of our favorite private label brands: The Burlington Watch Company. For those unfamiliar, a private label American pocket watch was manufactured by a major company but sold under a different name. Burlington watches were made by the Illinois Watch Company but headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. If you look at the plate to the left of the balance, you’ll see “Burlington Watch Co. / Chicago”—a detail we absolutely love, having grown up in the Chicagoland area and feeling a strong connection to this brand. We were able to source this historic piece with its original 14-karat gold-filled pocket watch case, which comes with the conversion. The piece dates to 1922 and has and we cased the piece in our 44 mm conversion case with adjustable lugs, allowing it to wear more like a modern 40. The case was intentionally designed to complement—not overshadow—the masterpiece within. **Price**: $2,249, But negotiable—especially to someone with an interest getting into vintage American watchmaking. **Case**: 316L stainless (surgical grade steel), 44 mm diameter, 47 mm lug to lug (52 mm with crown), 13 mm height, front/back sapphire crystals that are AR coated. Front, back, and crown gaskets provide 50 meters of water resistance although it is recommended to take the piece off before water activities. **Shipping**: UPS 2nd Day Air free in the USA.
