The Islander ISL-136 is dressed up in the colors of blue and orange. Day and date are represented on opposite sides of the dial (another Islander first) next to applied louvered windows. The applied indices are coated with Super-LumiNova BGW9 that glows a cool blue when the lights dim. The same treatment is applied to the silver hands. Large, spelled out numbers at the 30 and 60 minute mark, as well as the arrangement of hash marks, make this a very sporty watch. The polished and brushed stainless steel case is a very comfortable 40mm in diameter, with a thickness of 13mm. The dial is protected from the elements by a domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
