This Hamilton Khaki Aviation Chronograph is a numbered special edition reference of H765170 - a COSC chronometer version of the normal reference H765160 - a great consideration as your first mechanical chronograph.

The substantial wrist presence of a 44mm case makes an impact. The watch has a chronometer-grade ETA/Valjoux 7753 (a modified ETA 7750) - which is probably the most common chronograph calibre, and very robust! The calibre is even decently decorated (for a Hamilton!) with striping on the rotor, perlage on the bridges etc., and is numbered to match the special edition number on the case. Sapphire front and back, comes on a fairly worn Hirsch suede blue strap, and a Hamilton deployant clasp.

Serviced in 2019 by a FBHI + BWCMG watchmaker (Fellow of the British Horological Institute / British Watch and Clockmakers Guild). For me, this Hamilton has been an incredible accessory on campsites, off-road expeditions, and track days.

Condition

• Mechanically good, the action of the chronograph pushers is crisp and the registers all reset to zero correctly.
• Cosmetically fair, looks like a tool watch with some scratching and a few nicks on the case. Brushed finish on the case hides scratches well.
