This red Alpinist is one of 1000 and it was a regional only release for their Australia market. It is is powered by Seiko's upgraded 6R35 which has an impressive 70 hour power reserve, hacking and handwinding and is running well within manufacture specifications. The dial was made to mimic the red desert sand of Australia and it has both a sunburst pattern as well as a very unique dial texture. Depending on the light the red shifts from a vibrant cherry to a subdued burgundy with the sunburst rays adding to visual interest. Its got Seiko's Lumibrite on the hands, a case that has razor sharp lines between the mirror polish and brushing and wonderful depth to the dial with applied indices and Seiko logo. It's also a great everyday wear with with an anti reflective sapphire crystal, screwdown crown and 200m of water resistance. Because of these impressive specs, this a durable tool watch that can also easily be dressed up thanks to the beautiful case profile and finishing. It comes with on the factory leather strap in a deep red that compliments the dial. The strap also has Seiko's unique polished deployant clasp that is super easy to get on and off. This watch is brand new, cosmetically perfect and has never been worn. It includes the special edition presentation box and is still under factory warranty.
