I think if you've been here more than a week you've seen how slow the watch market is these days. It's frustrating for sure!

The Triton Subphotique is the upitty snooty cousin of ZRC. History dates back to the same era and a very similar design. Currently the MSRP with the conversion is about $5500.00 USD. As a ZRC fanboy, I will honestly say the Triton not only wears better at 40mm and slightly shorter lugs, it's easier to set the time on. The strap or bracelet is held with spring bars rather than wonky Allen head screws making strap changes a snap. That said, I have a bunch of ZRCs in my box and I collect within brands to keep myself "in control" and Triton really doesn't have a huge variety to offer a collector like myself... so she needs a new home.

Overall condition is 95% or better per the TZ scale. sides of the case are mirrored polished and the only signs of wear are really on the caseback where there's a slight mark from the bracelet making contact. Fantastic lume. The watch uses a Soprod M100 under the hood.

From the Triton page:

"The Subphotic Triton is the modern embodiment of the Spirotechnique Triton: the iconic model of the brand, designed by Colonel Jean René Parmentier in 1963. It plunges to a depth of 500 meters, well below the oceanic photic zone where light disappears (200 meters); this is how it is called "Subphotic".

The watch will come with the original bracelet (currently set for 7.5") with all 8 removable links and both a bright blue and navy blue FKM rubber straps as soon in the pics below. I'm told the watch was recently serviced at the factory in France but I have no documents to support this. The watch is keeping great time, winds and sets very smooth.

If you're a collector for reissues or just don't want to pony up the $10K for a Triton original from the early 60s, this is a great option and you'll never bump into anyone else at watch gtg events with a piece this rare.

Sale price is $2800.00 which includes insured shipping in the USA. I'm happy to post to established members worldwide as well on your expense.

Trade value slightly higher $3000.00. Established members only or be willing to send me you watch(es) first. I'm open to trades up, down or sideways. in some cases multiples in both directions (I have other pieces and or cash on my end). I want to shake up the collection and try some new things. I tend to prefer classic/reissue styles. Even some vintage divers and chronos between 36-42mm. I'm starting a new job that sees me in an office more than I have since before covid (Booo!) so even some dressier pieces could be on the table.

Brands most interested in ZRC, Tudor, Zenith but after 30 years of playing with watches... I don't know what I don't know... so try me!

The only trades I will rule out up front are anything cobranded Swatch/Omega or Swatch/Blancpain and Casio. Just not my thing.
