Good evening, WatchEx! One and only for today: a favorite from my personal collection, the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic - paired with four straps and a Tudor hat. This is a rare sale from what I consider my "keep" box - less out of wanting to sell it, and more out of "well this wedding isn't paying for itself." Tudor as a brand needs no introduction, nor does the Black Bay lineup - but their Ceramic model, this is a watch I could talk about for hours on end. The Black Bay Ceramic came to life after Tudor made a one-off ceramic version of the infinitely popular/successful Black Bay for Only Watch 2019, a charity drive auction where major brands release a one-of-one model to fetch insanely high prices. Fast forward two years later, and Tudor rose the hype that the unique model garnered, releasing a slightly modified version for retail sale. Beige lume-filled markers/hands and a blacked-out version of their MT5602 were added, which helped legibility on the dial and increased the wow factor on the reverse side. Not to be confused with the Black Bay Dark, Tudor's black PVD coated steel Black Bay, the Ceramic's case construction is entirely titanium and ceramic, resulting in a very lightweight yet durable finish. The matte black finish helps the watch look as if it's smaller, and the extremely hard ceramic is incredibly scratch resistant. The ceramic bezel insert has a beautiful sunray effect which creates a focal point inward to the dial - a nice accent to the high-polish on the chamfered edges around the watch. It truly does not feel like a regular steel Black Bay, even though most specs are very similar. The movement inside is also METAS certified - this is the elite of the elite specifications for accuracy. This is a watch that I will absolutely own again in the future. Genuinely one of my all-time favorites!
