**See Imgur for Video** **The Watch:** This is a near-mint Octo Finissimo in Black Ceramic. The Octo Finissimo needs no introduction. Briefly: first released in 2014, the ultra-thin, Gerald Genta-derived design catapulted Bulgari into high horology. The Octo Finissimo is also possibly my favorite modern watch and part of that is how material agnostic the form is. Many brands and lines feel tied to their material: The Royal Oak and Nautilus were created as luxury steel watches. Rolex is also known for its steel work. Cartier’s Tank Louis and most of Piaget’s offerings are gold. You can find most of these in other precious metals, but these are just the same form writ more expensive. The Octo Finissimo is different. Each version of it feels like a commentary on the material, rather than just a reiteration of the same form in more expensive metal. The first, titanium version is feather-light, and ultra-thin. It’s the way the watch was originally conceived, and there’s a purity of theme: everything is barely-there, down to the very material used. It’s utility taken to a level that becomes luxury. The ceramic feels entirely different. It’s thicker and heavier. Still an ultra-thin watch, but when something measures 5mm thick, you immediately notice an extra fraction of a millimeter on the case and bracelet. The case is fully media-blasted so it’s entirely matte. The only reflective parts of the watch are the movement and the indices. The same purity of theme exists: everything is heavy. The material, the aesthetics, and Bulgari’s commitment to the bit. If you want a striking daily wear that works with streetwear, a tuxedo and everything in between, this is the one. **Condition**: In near-mint condition.
